Tamara Johnson, DVM

Dr. Tamara Johnson is a 2000 graduate of Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine. From the age of 6 years old, she possessed a deep love for animals and was determined to be a veterinarian. Growing up in Garland, she attended Garland High School and then completed her undergraduate studies at Tarleton State University where she was awarded the John Tarleton Spirit Award. She graduated from vet school alongside her colleague, Dr. Alisa Volpi. Her interests include ultrasound, internal medicine, and soft tissue surgery. Dr. Johnson was very excited to accept the role of Medical Director at Wylie Veterinary Hospital in February of 2019. She was formerly at Casa Linda Animal Clinic in Dallas for over 18 years. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family – husband Heath, children Tristan and Camden, two dogs (Dozer and Radar), and two cats (Turbo and Monty.) She also enjoys weightlifting, road trips, and outings with friends.
