Formerly a campus cat at Wylie Preparatory Academy, Patriot joined the Wylie Vet family in March of 2020. Originally dropped off for a hurt toe, the COVID-19 pandemic forced Patriot to be quarantined at the clinic while his school was closed. What was supposed to be a short stay at the clinic turned into an indefinite living arrangement, and our staff soon grew fond of the grumpy old tabby. After some time, Dr. Johnson decided to officially adopt Patriot, and he resided full-time in the clinic. He helped out around the office as our official Lunch Taster, and in his free time enjoyed staring at dogs who don’t like cats. Unfortunately, we lost him to cancer in 2024. Despite his occasionally curmudgeonly attitude, Patriot was a beloved feline, and we miss him dearly.
