Mel has been a part of the Wylie Vet team since 2008. She started her journey in Vet Med when she was 17, and after falling in love with the field has gone on to become our Lead Veterinary Technician. While you may not see her in exam rooms very often, she is always working behind the scenes to make sure the clinic runs smoothly by preparing patients for surgery and managing drop off appointments. At home she has two cats—Ziggy, a sweet old lady, and Brem, who hides all day—as well as three dogs: Sequin, a “free” Walmart dog that is proof that nothing is free in this world, Bear, a big but loving Rottweiler, and Abbott, her high strung Chihuahua-mix that rules the house. Mel’s family is her rock, and in her free time she can usually be found either spending time with her husband and kids or strolling the aisles of Target with Starbucks in hand. Mel’s humor, kindness, and determination make her an amazing Veterinary Technician, and we are so glad she’s here with us!
