Dr. Ewa Cissik found her love for veterinary medicine after adopting a Siamese mix cat in her sophomore year of college while working toward her Bachelor's Degree in Zoology at Texas A&M University. She then went on to earn her DVM from A&M in 2000 right alongside Dr. Johnson and Dr. Volpi.
Dr. Cissik moved from Poland to the Dallas area with her family when she was a teenager. Her move was quite an adjustment but allowed her to pursue the educational and career opportunities that her parents had envisioned for her. Dr. Cissik’s professional interests include dentistry and internal medicine. She also volunteers on the Animal Service Facility Advisory Committee for Collin County.
Dr. Cissik was very excited to join Wylie Veterinary Hospital in November 2022. She was formerly at McKinney Animal Hospital for over 20 years. When she’s not working, Dr. Cissik spends most of her free time with her family - husband John and their 3 boys - enjoying local sporting events (go Allen Americans and Frisco Roughriders!) and visits to our state parks to hike various trails. Her family also includes a spunky Pitbull Terrier and a tabby cat. When she has time, she pursues her hobbies of reading literature and romance novels, tinkering on the computer with her website, and practicing yoga.
