Dr. Alisa Volpi grew up just down the road in Garland, Texas. From the tender age of 7, being a veterinarian was the only job she wanted to do. She attended Texas A&M University and earned her associate's degree in Biomedical Science in 1996. She went on to graduate from Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine in 2000 and was the proud recipient of The Gentle Doctor Award. She recently became Fear Free Certified, a program for Veterinarians to learn and put in place an environment that is positive and FEAR FREE for animals who come in our hospital. There are only 25 veterinarians in Texas who are currently certified, only 1200 in the whole world – one of them being Dr. Volpi. She has a special interest in Behavior Medicine, especially in preventing behavior problems in puppies. She was in full-time private practice for 5 years before becoming a mom. Now her family consists of a husband, two kiddos, a geriatric golden retriever, an orange tabby kitty boy, and a crazy border collie puppy. When she’s not at the clinic, you can find her drinking iced coffee, photographing babies, or trying to learn agility with Ollie, her new Border Collie puppy.
